GNS 502 GPS Chip Antenna Module TI-cc4000


The new GNS502 is an easy to implement and very economical complete GPS receiver that is based on Texas Instrument’s CC4000 chipset. Implementation is made easy because all antenna circuitry is already implemented.

GNS502 integrates a complete GPS receiver that minimize the load on the host processor

GPS engine, TCXO clock, an internal LNA and a high efficient chip antenna with an additional LNA stage are all integrated in the module. Adding a single power supply and a 32.768kHz clock is all that is needed to operate.

Low power requirements (45mA /80mW full power tracking current), small size, highest sensitivity make this solution an economical choice for GPS-only applications. Further energy savings can be achieved by using one of the internal power saving functions.

The module measures just 15.7 by 10 by 2.0 mm.

GNS502 offers the industry’s highest level of navigation sensitivity down to -163dBm*. It has superior dynamic performance at high velocity and provides effective protection against interference signals.

An Evaluation board (GNS502 StarterKit) for test and demonstration is also available. It allows quick testing over USB data and power connection.

The firmware can be updated over the standard UART connection. GNS provides a tool for use with PC.
